I am EB3...good news is the two-year EAD...a bit relieved.
Y2K bought in thousands of Desis(including me) and now we are in a USCIS Theater queue. House Full...I will wait for another show.....so what?

I would be the most happiest person if that happens :D
i think dates won't (and should not ) move much. So at the end of year we can see big jump and then may be people like me can file i-1485.

Wow! Good for you! So when did you apply for your I-485? Please let us know the details so we can compare it with our situation. My husband is EB3 as well with PD Feb 2005 (Philippines). Thanks!

If this becomes a law, the USCIS will draft the rules. Definitely, those who are already in line will be allowed to use the recaptured visas and will pay the fees for that. They will also retain the PD.

Thanks, we expect some of the offices will say this. There can be lot of answers to this question. One way to respond is -
"For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"

This makes perfect sense, and thanks for the suggestion, it definitely came to use when I called the office today.
When my statement was put in this angle, Sen. Brown, Sen Greg, Sen McConnell's office took note of it, and thanked me. I told them that immigration is being held hostage with words like amnesty, and if such rhetoric is taken out, common solutions can be found between reps and dems.

I think we need to emphasize the fact that typically guys who got stuck in BEC for many years are the same guys being effected again, as they just got out of BEC queue and filled concurently and now basically are stuck again, it is really ridiculous experience for this group of applicants, where as people who have applied in PERM or those who were able to get LC certified without getting into BEC have gone through the whole process relatively smoothly....

Looks like IL is the place to get the license. No questions asked and you will get 5 years. I just had my license renewed for 5 years in Aug 2008 by mail even though my H1 expires in Oct 2009.

Did any body renew the PA DL without original 485 receipt?
