I understand your frustration. Since there is no spillover in the first quarter of new fiscal year, it was expected that PD would move back. How can you you expect 2006 PD for Oct when there is no spillover visa numbers.
Next year Jul-Sep 2009, PD should move to mid 2006 again.
My 2 cents.
Again on Next yr Jul 09-Sep 09 the DOS move the dates to Mid 2006 or Early 2007 and then the ineffiicient USCIS approve the cases with later PD's and leave the Older PD case
Until USCIS fix their system, it will be very hard , The Whole thing is unpredictable and much harder than winning a Power ball or mega million lotterry

True, once the people realize that they are close to GC they forget all tasks and move on to the other forums (R2I or USC or whatever) there are very few who actually stay on and help add this to the fact that most of the EB3-I's got fed up with the nonsense going on (most were only looking for a sounding board to voice their dismay, instead they were reminded of the caste system). So EB2's stop working because their PD is current and EBs stop because there is little hope/chance/help. We can dissect the VB as much as we want, the fact of the matter is that EB3 as a whole and EB3 (india &China) in particular are screwed big time. There is hope in the Logfren bills but the congress seems to have other 'important' issues to discuss.
We should take the campaign to a new level move from individuals to involving groups and compaines. They have more money and power to make things move. EB3 & EB2 discussions will go on for ever, we can either decide to wallow in our sorrow or do something. Lets identify groups who can help us and write to them. Each EB should talk to his/her HR and ask them to write a letter to their congressman/Senator it will have a bigger impact.

Pls dont believe SriKondoji. Hez known for spreading false rumours and making lame comments thus misleading ppl. He did the same thing on the July 2 Tracker and was booted out. SriKondoji & I both being from the NE area we communicated through this thread possibility of car polling for DC and I received a call from him last thursday(Aug 9th) regarding this from some Ohio area code. So buddyinus I can at least assure you he was travelling at that time.

Guys please enroll for recurring contributions. Its for our own good. Please dont sit under the misconception that since we applied for 485 and we get EAD we might be ok. you are not safe until you have the green card in your hand. durbin, grasley, ron hira are out there to get you, I wont be surprised if they come after EAD once they are done with H1. Please contribute to IV so that we can work on the next leg on the process, be it SKIL or visa number recapture or whatever comes but to do that IV needs money, please contribute so that we can build on the momentum. My 2 cents.
From what I have read and learned from my experience, the dwelling (house/condo/apt, etc) prices are sensible and affordable (read payable) if it is between 2-3 times household annual income. I think this applies universaly with few exceptions.
Average household (family) income in India metro cities is around 6-7 INR lacs. For folks working in IT, it would be 'X' % more depending on his/her work. Let's take liberal amount of 12 lacs p.a.
This means that buying a property for price over INR 36 lacs would carry significant risk of defaulting. I have heard many of my friends give me argument that our income will grow significantly over years and should be able to manage higher loan amounts.
I am really aghast at the rate at which NRI's are investing in India. I can speak to Mumbai, where there are thousands of NRI bought properties that are vacant for years and there is no justifiable ROI. Having realised that there is no ROI due to resale or renting, sooner or later they will start pulling out their hard earned money. I wouldn't be surprised to see many foreclosures, in years to come, and RBI may have to bail out ICICI, IDBI, etc - a scenario similar to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
I have thumb rule for myself - Don't buy property which is 3 times more than current annual income.
P.S. This isn't applicable for folks who have inherited a fortune. :D
