One of my friend got receipt for I-140 and I-1485, He send on July 30th to Nebraska Service center. I have send on the 2nd July still waiting.

yabadaba, we will always have tough opposition when we try to do something. Your op-ed was very good and some people could not swallow it. You know some people can't imagine anyone from your country having good english! All these media efforts help us raise awareness, send our message across to the masses to counter anti immigrant propaganda. Due to our press coverage lawmaker offices too have started to take us seriously. Thanks to you and other IV members that are constantly helping this organization in media efforts, whether it is as small as writing emails, getting interviewed or writing articles. I am just hoping we do not mis the July Bus :cool:
Worrying not gona give us anything. Were u worried 3 months back when the PD was 2003 something ... if we are lucky we will get it this time if not we will get the PD next time. Have faith and don’t loose ur sleep over it.

I live in Georgia and I agree with you all. All these DMVs were sleeping and woke up after 9/11 and imposing these strict rules that makes everyone's life miserable. Unless you live in a city life will be hell without DL and we are sweating it over every time a renewal comes up. How am I suppose to explain DMV guy about I-94, H1 extension etc. Even some immigration officers in airport give wrong I-94 expiry date without understanding the difference between visa stamp and extension.

I have mailed my 485 on july 16th and NSC recieved it on july 17th.My question is looking at the TSC processing times which says July 18th,is my application already preadjusted,485notice date is september 15th.Can anybody tell me how the processing date really works.

Update. My attorney has sent a letter (interfiling process) to USCIS mentioning that my case is current now. One of my friends got 485 approved within 2 weeks after initiating interfiling process. I hope it would be the same case with me.

Something just popped up from my family.
I filed concurrent 140-485-765-131 in Nebraska.
DHL delivered the package on 1st of february.
My checks were not yet cashed and I did not get any reply from USCIS (and neither did my lawyer).
My lawyer said it is impossible and I am better off refiling but this implies redoing a lot of things that cost money and time.
How can I try to expedite without a receipt number?
Well what you should have done was filed it with the local USCIS office with a letter proving the emergency at this stage all u can do is wait for the receipt notice once you receive that make an infopass appointment and explain your emergency with proof they will expedite.

Iam not jumping on the bandwagon but my wife and I are contemplating about opening a (indian) restaurant and I would like to know if we can open one on H1b/EAD status? I know I could consult an attorney but we are not gonna open it right away so wanted to get some insight from experts on this.
If we cant open on our own due to technicalities can we open it in someones name who has a GC or citizenship (my sister and her family recently got citizenship) and work in that resturant as employees, atleast my wife if not me.?

Same here - Masters from US, with PD 2006....Stilllllllllllllllll waiting!!!!!
I was reading an article handed over by my Lawyer sometime back - the whole GC process was designed to be completed in 6 mos. end-to-end.
This goes to show how outdated the process is, plus the resource crunch they may be facing at USCIS.
All in all - it's a black hole...only your 'karma' can get you out of it:)

This is really a bad news especially for those whose PD is between 2004-2005.Its like those who are waiting for a long time are being asked to wait more!!
