Guys,
I applied AP in Jan 4th 2008. Last week on 13th there was a LUD on AP. Today the status changed to "Document Mailed to applicant". Based on your experiences does this means RFE or Approval. BTW i belong to Nebraska Service Center.

when do we all send it? should we wait for oct 2nd?
Also is it a crime to send such letters in bulk to a govt agency?(kinda spamm?)

On what basis dates are moved to PD 2006 for India and China during Aug and September ? Is there a memorandum which justifies this move ?
Dear USCIS,
1> On what basis you are processing the applications ? Receipt Date,Notice Date or Priority Date ? How can you justify approving 2006 cases
2> How many 485 applications are pending for India and China , year wise ? Why is it so difficult to publish ? why are we in dark and guessing things ?
3>What the customer service is for ? your 1-800 number information is so use less ...Why can not they even inform us about our Priority date or Name Check cleareance ? And the service tickets are next to useless

In the last several months, the worldwide demand for immigrant visas in the EB-2 category has been lower than the State Department expected. To make sure that all available EB-2 immigrant visas are used, DOS has, since April, made some unused worldwide numbers available for China and India and will continue to do so in July. Typically, if someone is doing a AC21 jump + H1b transfer, it means that the h1b gets transferred to the new employer and the new employer is the h1b petitioner. If the h1b is based on an approved 140 - the beneficiary gets it for 3 years and unless the person is completing his 3 years with the new employer when the 140 revoke happens, the h1b is still valid unless the new employer decides he will cancel it or the person is layed off and thats when the person is in deep trouble because he/she does not have EAD. Correct me if I am wrong. H1b revocation by ex employer may not affect the candidate because candidate already did a transfer

If person has already crossed 6 years limit, H1 extension or transfer does not stand valid without any underlying pending AOS. This is what RG termed as opposite to conventional internet wisdom. Repenting that i miised the chance, and should have applied at that time.
Even if you had applied then when single, no difference my friend.
One still needs to retain the H1 so their dependants could have the H4. So, until the dates open up again there is no end in sight for the other benefits such as EAD etc.
If it is any solace, you actually did not miss the boat!

We are talking about HR 5882,5921 and 6039. Very few people are working very hard to take all of us a step ahead with the GC process and we have lots of hope and we also have direction. Please check with your state chapter lead for latest updates.

Man, in frustration people do not even know what to say and what not! Be very careful of what you spin and what you say. From the looks of it, this stuff has every chance of spinning out of control and it may have already started the ball rolling.Think about it for a second!. Once it goes that way, trust me, we will all live to regret that.
Yes, DHS approved upwards of 25000 GCs over the weekend, leading up to July 2nd. And some people are pissed off at that, err..why?
Remember, those 25000 are one of us. Once,they too were in line for Labor certifications, I-140s, medical exams and all that crap. And some of them were in the so called "FBI Name check" black-hole for an extended period of time. We should be rejoicing in the fact that most of those backlogs got cleaned up. Instead we have people questioning the validity of those newly approved GCs.My dear friends, god willing, we will all have GCs one day and tell me, how would you feel if someone else comes screaming at you just because he did not get one too.
Putting a "security lapse" spin on this could be very dangerous and should be avoided at any cost. I hope one of those anti-immigrant lobbies do not pick it up and start running with that. I prey that they do not revoke those already approved GCs, because if they do, then those poor 25000 souls will go through much more agony than what we are going through now.
It's very tough to get the genie back in the bottle once it is out, so think before you start popping that cork.

Does anyone know/suggest how to handle this delay? How are Ombudsman conferences held? Are these adhoc or with a certain frequency? We need to bring this up somehow. Recent USCIS reports show varying numbers of cases processed. But no one will know about our delays of existing AP cases unless we bring this to attention through murthy/Oh firm/ombudsman...somehow?

not every h1 guy can or will apply for GC. For example many of this big indian IT companies, with lot of H1s in hand, either dont apply GC for employees or they have very strict policies so that most dont qualify.
I know for sure , coz i am a victims of such situation :)
many of those H1s (>50% in cases I have come across) jump to a US company here and start their GC here.
